The celebrations of the end of October and early November
Today was a special day for us. We have dedicated it to the celebrations of the end of October and early November in the world.
The students prepared several points for our Community Meeting program. We got to know the story of Halloween and we discussed the celebration of this holiday in America and Europe. The second part was devoted to the Slavic traditions of All Souls ‘Day, we watched a fragment of Adam Mickiewicz’s “Forefathers’ performance by the 5th grade. We discussed the Polish specificity of All Saints’ Day and the fact that on this day, passenger planes are descendin over Poland, so that you can see the beautifully lit cemeteries. The third theme we discussed was the Mexican traditions of the celebration of Dia De Los Muertos.
Traditionally in this pre-Christmas time our students visit the grave of Stanisław Dybowski – an artist, a painter who in the 1930s built the “Yellow Villa” which is the seat of our school. In turn, yesterday, class 6 students together with their teacher were educated at the tomb commemorating the Warsaw residents murdered by the Germans at Nabielaka Street.
Below the photos from our celebrations.
