Our Trip to Zakopane – letters to parents

Zakopane Day 1

Dear Parents,
we’re so excited to tell you about the first day of our trip. Although we had to get up in the middle of the night, we believe that picturesque landscapes and excellent weather conditions will reward us all inconveniences.
After we left our luggage in the hostel, we went for a walk to feel the atmosphere of Zakopane. The ski jumping hill Wielka Krokiew made a huge impression on us! For lunch we had some traditional dishes which satisfied even picky eaters. Then we had some rest in our rooms and at 5:00 pm we reached by funicular our first mountain  – Gubałówka which provided us with unforgettable views. Delicious pizzas that we had in the evening were a real feast for our senses.
Tired but extremely happy we would like to ensure you that we’re having so much fun in Zakopane.
All the best, good night

Zakopane Day 2

Dear Parents,
although weather conditions this morning seemed quite uncertain, we did not give up our plans to admire Kościeliska valley. Every weather forecast said something different but apparently mountains have their own right and … it rained. Despite being wet we managed to find a few positive things. We were accompanied by a licensed Tatra Mountain guide, who shared her broad knowledge about geography, science and history with all of us. On our way to Ornak Hall Shelter we couldn’t resist trying fresh “oscypki”, local cheese, which won our hearts! Finally, it stopped raining and we could derive real pleasure from breathtaking views.
The Museum of Illusion was another attraction for today. We didn’t want to leave the place; we visited the same rooms for at least few times (especially the gravity room and labyrinth with mirrors). We took a lot of photos and enjoyed every single minute!
In the evening we’re going to play board games and have some rest before hiking tomorrow.
Warm greetings from Zakopane,

Zakopane Day 3

Dear Parents,
it is difficult to describe our impressions during the hiking trail from Kuźnice to Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy (see photos below). The weather was perfect and the higher we climbed, the more delighted with the views we were. Our amazing guide adjusted pace according to our needs, that’s why we took a few breaks during which we learnt about geological structure of the mountains. We came back to our hostel at 5 pm, had dinner and relaxed.
We can’t wait to see you, show you photos that we took and tell you about our trip.
At 12 pm we’re going to say goodbye to the Tatra Mountains. Our train arrives at the Central Railway Station at 6:15 pm.
See you soon,
