Sejm of the Republic of Poland
As part of our meetings with Member of Parliament Dorota Łoboda — a representative of the Civic Coalition, the party’s press spokesperson, and a former Warsaw city councillor — we visited the Sejm of the Republic of Poland. The meeting was dedicated to the daily work of MPs in the Polish Parliament.
Ms. Łoboda explained the inner workings of parliamentary life to students from Grades 7 and 8 (Middle School) and Grade 9 (1st class of High School). She outlined the primary duties of MPs, including work in the Plenary Hall, parliamentary committees, and conducting MP interventions.
A significant portion of the meeting was devoted to Ms. Łoboda’s own initiatives. She spoke about her work in the Polish education sector, her support for Polish migrants living abroad, the importance of increasing the role of women in Polish politics, and efforts to bridge social, gender, and racial divides in the country. Following the principle that practical examples are the best way to learn, she used these specific actions to illustrate the diverse responsibilities of a parliamentarian.
